DVA funds all health services, provided under the Veterans’ Entitlements Act 1986 (VEA), the Safety Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988 (SRCA) and the Military Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2004 (MRCA), necessary to meet a clinical need for Gold Card holders. For White Card holders, DVA will fund those services required because of their accepted war caused or service related condition(s). DVA funds a range of health services that are clinically required to treat your particular health conditions.
General medical services are usually delivered via your GP.
However your GP, treating hospital doctor, or hospital discharge planner may also refer you to a qualified specialist practitioner for specialist medical treatment of your accepted conditions.
Health Hub Ulladulla can provide chiropractic treatment of musculo-skeletal dysfunction, dietetic services to help you manage chronic disease or to assist you following an episode of major injury or illness, psychology services to assist your management of minor interpersonal problems to more severe conditions such as depression, anxiety and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
Assistance Managing Medications and Health Conditions (Veterans’ MATES)
You can access comprehensive information about a range of health issues through the Veterans’ MATES programme. This programme was designed to help you and your treating general practitioner and pharmacists to manage common medical conditions.
Information is also available to other heath professionals, for example directors of care at residential aged care facilities. The Veterans’ MATES programme aims to improve the health care of veterans and war widows through quality use of medicines and better use of health services.
